Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929 and April 4, 1968. Martin was a Baptist minister and activist that became spokesperson and leader for the civil rights movement.
Martin Luther King Jr. was very poetic in the way he talked and expressed himself and talked about his beliefs. I don’t know if anyone believes that darkness would drive out darkness or that hate could drive out hate. I suppose there could be people that may believe that. I don’t think pessimists feel that more of the same will cancel each other out. Goes back to every action has an equal and opposite reaction. Light begets darkness and love begets hate.
I do talk about many injustices in the world from abuse, violence, rape, murder and they do threaten justice. But it goes further than that, when we do nothing for the injustices in life, then nothing changes. When we don’t speak up, protest or combat the injustices they will inevitably continue. When asked by the district attorney’s office if I wanted to include anything in the file regarding the case of Dexter & Luna and then asked if I wanted it closed, I told them no I want that open. I want people to be able to read and access this injustice. That is the way that we change things. We continue to make others aware of things that happen that we may ignore.
I do have faith but there are things that sometimes my mind gets in the way. Faith doesn’t necessarily mean religion. To believe in something is more spiritual. At least this is my interpretation of things. Religion I think is more of a translation or stories, it may be tied to spiritual experiences that have been passed along but who really knows. What I dislike about religion is those that believe there is just one and that is something that has always bothered me. I don’t think there is just one but many.
