John Ronald Reuel Tolkien was born on January 3, 1892 and died September 2, 1973. Tolkien was an English writer, poet, philologist, and academic. Best known for creating Middle Earth and authoring The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings.
Tolkien was very poetic and the way he described things so thoroughly, to some may find it a dull read but it shows that he had this vision and wanted to let you see that vision. He created languages and maps of his world and songs. He really opened up the fantasy world and made it so future generations could appreciate what was created.
These are very wise words that we all should consider. All we have control of is our own lives and all we have to do is decide what to do with what time we have left. We don’t know how much time that is so we need to live our lives and do things, try things before you’re no longer given the option to be able to do something.
That of course is words that came out of Sam Gamgee’s mouth from Tolkien’s pen. I try to remember or at least think that there is some good in this world because it seems like as the years pass and crazier things keep happening that there is an uprising. I’m not saying it’s all good or all bad but it’s happening and it’s happening because things need to change and because people are impatient with change or how slow it happens so more bad comes out to aid in the feeling that things are worse. There is good in our world and if you’re open to it you can see it, you just need to open your eyes.
