Only a fool permits the letter of the law to override the spirit in the heart. Do not let a piece of paper stand in the way of true love and headlines. – Rod Stewart

There are a lot of pieces of paper in life… think about it. Your social security card… piece of paper from the government that identifies you for many things, a major identifier for you, attached to IRS, work, licenses, credit cards, etc and so on. There’s also your birth certificate, another piece of paper that shows where you were born, when, at what time, who your parents are etc and is used to identify you as a citizen of whatever country you were born in. Then there are the more expensive papers like your drivers license which allows you to drive, your id which gives you proof of identification in state, passport allows you to go out of country. There are expensive papers marriage is a cheaper piece of paper than divorce papers because lawyers are involved and of course other law biding documents, the more pages there is the more expensive it is. I think Rod was talking about what people write in newspapers or magazines and not letting it get in the way of who you want to be with. Or possibly he was talking about the piece of paper (wedding certificate) and trying to be with someone who is already married.

You go through life wondering what is all about but at the end of the day it’s all about family. – Rod Stewart

It is often about family and family isn’t always blood. It is also the people that you choose to have in your life, your close friends or best friends. These are the family you choose and I love my family. I don’t know where I would be without those people in my life. I cherish the time I’ve had with them because many of them I don’t get to see as often as I did when I was living at home but I’m also with one of my favorite people so that helps quite a bit.

I am a man of contradictions, I suppose. – Rod Stewart

I think we all would like to think we’re mysterious and for the most part there are parts of people that are a mystery. I’m not a man but I am someone of contradictions. There are many things that I am equal and opposite of. I love hot beverages, hotter the better but I also enjoy iced cold. There are plenty of examples but would I say I’m contradictory…I suppose it depends and I think it’s good to have a balance in life.

I thought I’d include this and because I love Carside Karaoke with James Corden.
