Matt Damon Once Said… How You Like Them Apples?

Matthew Paige Damon was born on October 8, 1970. Matt is an American actor, producer, and screenwriter. He co-wrote and starred in one of my favorite movies, Good Will Hunting along with Ben Affleck (the other co-writer) and Robin Williams. He was also in Dogma with Kevin Smith and Ben along with the Bourne series and other great movies.

They talk about accountability, but they’re measuring with these standardized tests, which I believe in my heart they will start fading out, It just demonstrably does not work. No Child Left Behind does not work. I’ve always believed that they have to invite teachers into the discussion to help design policy. We would never let business men design warrheads, why would you cut out educators when you’re designing education policy? – Matt Damon

Our educational system has been flawed for quite some time and the more the government or politics get involved in how or what we should do with our schools and if they have more power over what we do or do not teach or offer in our schools the education, the real education suffers. Teachers should absolutely be involved in education policy, I’m not saying the government can’t have any involvement but I just think they have too much and it should be revamped like many other systems in our society.

It’s just better to be yourself than to try to be some version of what you think the other person wants. – Matt Damon

I’m not saying that everything you are should be everything you put our there. But you should be open about who you are and not hide those characteristics until it’s too late. People do need to be who they want to be but for relationships to work there should be some leeway and not think you won’t or can’t change because that’s bullshit. Everyone is capable of change and compromise is something that is a must. You have to grow together.

We’re here for such a short time. When your great-great-grandkids study history, don’t you want them to be proud that you were part of the solution? – Matt Damon

I know this is one of the biggest reasons I write and I push the envelopes every chance I get because I want my ancestors to read my writing and see what I did to make a difference in this world. I don’t feel my personal thoughts on equality of races, religion, gender, sexual orientation are wrong but there are a lot of people that would like to state differently. Also those that would like to put a blanket over sexual assault, domestic violence, animal abuse, mental illness, post traumatic stress disorder and other things that aren’t talked about very much. Guns, abortion, and so much more. Yes I’m a forward thinker, I’m a feminist and I stand up for rights of those that cannot. I believe there needs to be more people that think like me in this world. What do you think? Or are you just happy with the way things are?

The Boardroom Scene from Dogma. Priceless 🙂
