Winona Laura Horowitz aka Winona Ryder was born on October 29, 1971. Winona is an American actress that’s been in a multitude of movies that I’ve enjoyed through the years.

I think that’s something that one learns when you become an adult is that sometimes you don’t have all the answers because I remember thinking as I was growing up that I knew a lot but the older I get the more I realize there was a lot of things I had no idea about. People strive for perfection often in life and it’s an unrealistic expectation to put onto oneself and when we take a step away and see it’s ok to not be perfect we become happier with out life. Life is a long string of confusion and wonderment that people face and it’s best to take it one day at a time rather than rush through it because you miss some of the best things if you rush it.

I can relate very much what this is like with my god daughters and my honorary niece and nephew, I remember holding them when they were babies and I remember their Mother’s being pregnant. I remember being scared something would happen to them and the Momma bear instinct that came out. So no you do not have to have a child to know what it’s like to be a Mom.

There has been so much stigma for so many years around mental illness and it really is sad because there are millions of people that have one form or another of mental illness and yes it can take many years to be able to work through the quirks and it’s not something that we should be ashamed of. If more of us were more open about it there would be less shame and maybe it would be a way of being able to help each other out more. It is us, you and me and it’s our feelings amplified. That’s why I chose this quote from Susanna Kaysen that Winona acted in the movie Girl Interrupted.
