Gary Johnson Once Said…

Gary Earl Johnson was born January 1, 1953. Gary is an American businessman, author, politician, and former presidential candidate who served as the 29th governor of New Mexico from 1995 to 2003. In 2012 and 2016 he was the Libertarian Party nominee for President of the United States.

I think very fundamentally to being Libertarian is not having a social agenda. I accept who you are and the life that you live as long as your life does not adversely affect mine. – Gary Johnson

I think this is what draws me to being a Libertarian is wanting less government and government involvement in your life. These are just a couple of the principles which I think if other parties considered them they may have a better chance at understanding one another better instead of trying to take down the other party. I picked Gary because it was during his candidacy that I finally understood where I stood politically.

As I told the students every time I visited a campus, you are the director of your own movie, and if you aren’t enjoying what you are doing, change it. – Gary Johnson

I’ve stated much of the same and have found others who have this underlying theme that if you don’t like where you’re going that you are the only one that has the power to change the path that you are on in your life. We should be looking at what we want in life, way before we usually do and I know things sometimes get in the way I just think the younger we start with our dreams and goals that the more likely we are to be able to accomplish them.

Balance the federal budget now, not 15 years from now, not 20 years from now, but now. And throw out the entire federal tax system, replace it with a fair tax, a consumption tax, that by all measures is just that. It’s fair. – Gary Johnson

It was statements like this that also made sense to me and spoke from a different perspective then what we have had and what we’ve been offered for so long. This makes more sense than pretty much anything that I’ve heard that anyone has came up with for many years and yet sadly Gary Johnson didn’t win but I was really hoping he would.
