You can’t look back; you have to keep looking forward. – Lucy Liu

I think everyone is guilty at one point or another in their life at looking back at things that have happened. Times that made you happy, made you sad, that were failures and successes but in life you need to learn to look to the future. I’m not stating that one shouldn’t remember and shouldn’t reflect because that is how we learn from things is to look at what happened and what we did so we don’t continue to make the same mistakes or we think of what our possibilities are. So reflect and learn and move forward.

I try to believe like I believed when I was five…when your heart tells you everything you need to know. – Lucy Liu

I’m not sure if I think that our five year old self is wise enough to know what we need to know. I think it is nice to at times be guided with your heart but I have found it’s the mind and the gut that are more intuitive when it comes to what you need in life. Those are a bit more accurate than the heart. The heart can get you in trouble at times and mess with your mind and if you’re thinking with some other part than you’re not ready for anything serious. I’m not saying that’s not important because it is but you have to be smart, trust your gut because I feel it senses things best and then your brain catches up next.

It is so important to be able to express yourself and to not be afraid of messing up and making mistakes and sort of coloring outside the lines. – Lucy Liu

It is good to make mistakes in life because it is the mistakes that help us more than anything what we should and shouldn’t do in life. Aside from making mistakes it’s okay to do things differently, being different isn’t all that bad and being unique is what many of us strive for. We do not have to follow the path of others, we don’t have to stay inside the lines, be creative, be unique and stand out.
