Carrie Fisher Once Said…

Carrie Frances Fisher was born on October 21, 1956 and died on December 27, 2016. Carrie’s father was Eddie Fisher and her mother was Debbie Reynolds who died one day after Carrie in 2016. Carrie was an American actress, writer, and comedienne and known for many movies but one of the most iconic roles was Princess Leia in the Star Wars movies.

Stay afraid, but do it anyway, what’s important is the action. You don’t have to wait to be confident, just do it and eventually the confidence will follow. – Carrie Fisher

I grew up with Princess Leia and seeing Carrie in other movies and I always enjoyed her and did look at her as a great role model for girls. Carrie didn’t seem to have fear or rarely showed it so I think if she had fear she just ignored it. Carrie was outspoken about her mental illness and her struggles which I feel helped her because I have to been open and I know it has helped me.

At times, being bipolar can be an all-consuming challenge, requiring a lot of stamina and even more courage, so if you’re living with this illness and functioning at all, it’s something to be proud of, not ashamed of. – Carrie Fisher

I’m not sure what bipolar disorder is like but I know what ptsd, anxiety and depression are like and like bipolar it takes a lot out of you and it does take a lot of courage and I agree that if you are functioning you should be proud of yourself for being able to work through it and be able to be active in life. Don’t get me wrong it takes time and a lot of work but it’s doable.

While the place that I’ve arrived at in my life may not precisely be everyone’s idea of heavenly, I could swear sometimes. I hear angels sing. – Carrie Fisher

I know I swear at times in my life I’ve felt like I’ve been in hell but it’s times that I’ve fought to get through that hell and have worked hard to rise above it there’s a certain serenity that comes in. That’s what I think Carrie is talking about that heavenly part and elation at times when you are at peace. I’m sure that Carrie is at peace and the force is with her.
