Kate Elizabeth Winslet was born on October 5, 1975. Kate is an English actress. Two of those movies are a couple of my favorites, Finding Neverland with Johnny Depp which was a story of J.M. Barrie‘s life and Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind with Jim Carey.
Nor have I ever heard a woman, especially one that has more weight than they need to or has some kind of unperfection state that they’re proud of their body. We tend to self shame, shame others but mainly self shame when we look in the mirror. I’m guilty of deleting unflattering pictures of myself because I cannot stand seeing myself looking a particular way. Our vision tends to be skewed as to what looks good, what is unhealthy. I feel that it is mentally healthier to try to look at yourself in a different way and be able to say that you are proud of yourself, your own body.
Wouldn’t this be nice if every feminist or female felt like this? I love the idea and thought that is behind being happy and free regardless of how much you weigh. We do put a lot of pressure on ourselves and when we compare ourselves with others it only tends to make that image worse and makes it harder to feel comfortable in our own skin.
For some of us this is true, not for all but some. I feel I have many secrets from many people I’ve met in my life and some of those secrets are my own. I’ve been trying to be more assertive about opening up about the things in my life that I feel I keep closely guarded. I do this in order to step out of my comfort zone and expand my horizons and to show my strength.
I feel this is something that should be part of being a Mother, being able to pick up her child, hug and kiss them and let them know that you love them, that you’re proud of them. I feel like this is something that we are taught and sometimes we learn this on our own but it is very important to do this for your children. You don’t have to do it with expensive gifts, vacations, words have a lot of impact especially when you mean it and when they’re heartfelt. Material things get old or worn out and they’re things but words are uplifting, encouraging and lasting. To be there for someone when they’re struggling, to let them know that they’re not alone, to be by their side… these are things people will remember you for.
