Kevin Patrick Smith was born on August 2, 1970. Kevin aka Silent Bob is best known for making movies, starring in his movies, being funny, being a comic book writer, an author, and a podcaster. Makes you wonder where the Silent in Silent Bob came from, am I right?
Kevin is an artist from his writing, comics and from his creative mind which has help spawn a multitude of movies and quite the following as an Independent film maker and just so happens to be the maker of one of my all time favorite comedies, Dogma. I’m sure Kevin has had plenty of encouragement by now and his message rings true for however you appreciate their work. As an artist, photographer and writer I appreciate knowing that my work is being read, pictures admired, and it might make you might just make someone’s day.
This is something that I feel I have which is why I share just a little about myself and what experiences I’ve had so that I can pass my knowledge along. For Kevin, he obviously has his own stories, the best comedy comes from usually shit things that happen in ones life and if you can figure out how to put a funny spin on the shit, it tends to lighten it a bit. It is good to share your knowledge with people that want to listen and want to learn something that they didn’t know before. Most people have some knowledge to pass along to someone else.
I love this quote from Kevin the most because that’s part of what I feel like I am trying to do every day. I try to make a difference in someone’s life. When I can make someone laugh I do that too. My tank has been filled with a lot of bullshit through the years from multiple traumas but because I survived and didn’t give up on life which I’ve questioned a time or two, I’m glad I didn’t just throw in the towel when it got too difficult. It takes a lot of hard work though to pull yourself up, dust yourself off and see what new version you are because you aren’t the same person as you were when you stepped in or stepped out. All of us go through an evolution in our lives and as an artist I share my photography, I share my drawings and my words so I can reach you. I give you a little so you keep coming back to see what more I’ll tell you, that’s what writers do as any good storyteller would tell you.
