Geoffrey Zakarian was born on July 25, 1959. Geoffrey is an American chef, restaurateur, television personality and author. Ever since the Food Network started I have been watching various shows and two of them, Iron Chef and Chopped have been ones I’ve enjoyed watching through the years. Geoffrey became one of those Iron Chef’s in 2011.

I remember as I was growing up and watching PBS and seeing Julia Child on her cooking show and enjoying watching her make various dishes and since the Food Network other networks and the Internet gained popularity more and more people are sharing recipes and YouTube is filled with people demonstrating how to cook this. Don’t even get me started on Pinterest, I have so many Boards and Pins that I’ve collected over the years and yes I actually have tried several recipes and craft ideas.
Food is a necessity in all of our lives and I consider myself a decent cook, baker and foodie…what do I mean by foodie? I take pictures when I go out to eat of where I’m at and what I’m eating, I tend to write reviews for those places and I also take pictures of what I cook. Food is a unique language depending on where you live or how you grew up. We get together for holidays, birthday, special occasions and sometimes just because. We talk and sometimes have profound conversations or at least get some ideas.

I can relate to this as a writer. I often wake up and check my email, texts, notifications and catch up on the news. Usually I determine what I want to do that day and I often am up late writing on here just to stay ahead so it doesn’t interfere with work. When you live away from the majority of people you’ve gotten to know over the years it’s not unusual to begin and end your day online and with how things are with our pandemic it’s the way things are.

Sometimes in life it’s hard to determine the path you want to take for career and sometimes many of the things you dream of doing get pushed aside. One shouldn’t push aside what makes you happy just because it’s difficult. The things that challenge you can help you grow and I agree much of the other things are just noise.
