Estée Lauder Once Said…

Estée Lauder was born Josephine Esther Mentzer on July 1, 1906 and died on April 24, 2004. Estée Lauder was an American businesswoman. With her husband, Joseph Lauter (later Lauder) co-founded their cosmetic company in 1946 in New York City.

I never dreamed about success, I worked for it. – Estée Lauder

Estée began her career working in the family hardware store and later started selling her uncle’s cream blends to her friends and then beauty shops, beach clubs and resorts. So she does know what it is to work hard when she was going around demonstrating how to use her Uncle’s cream. When her and her husband started the company they only carried four products and by 1967 she was honored as one of the Outstanding Women in Business.

Be Strong. Be Confident. Be the Star of your own Life. – Estée Lauder

These are three things to remember in life. To be strong because it’s a jungle out there and they’ll eat you alive otherwise. Be confident because confidence is the key, if you believe in yourself others will find it easier to believe in you. Lastly to be the star of your life… there really doesn’t need to be a hero or someone that outshines you. You should believe in yourself, be that star for your life, see how brightly you can shine. Be good to each other and treat each other as you would want to be treated.

Here are three more quotes from Ms. Lauder. Two of these quotes are similar to each other about how women share a common language of understanding one another and the other states how being a woman isn’t a liability but an asset. I believe that more women should feel they’re an asset and find the value inside yourself. Ms. Lauder was a success and the company she started with her husband still flourishes today.
