Ann Dustin Wilson was born on June 19, 1950. Ann is an American musician, best known as the lead singer and songwriter of the band Heart with her sister Nancy Wilson.

She has also been a solo artist and back on June 3, 2017 I seen her in concert at Concrete Street Amphitheater in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Of course Heart was and is a rock band, now classic rock but still considered to be hard rock in my opinion at least. I grew up listening to Heart albums such as Dreamboat Annie and Heart. So when I was able to go see a singer I grew up listening to and still love I absolutely had to and Ann didn’t disappoint.

I do believe that music is magical and it has the power to calm, to excite, to bring together, to divide, to touch your soul, to break your heart or make your heart swell, to give you chills, to make you dance, to help you meditate and so much more. Music moves people and moves me, what music moves you?

Life is dangerous but it doesn’t have to be. The boundaries that we have against each other because of race, religion, sexual preference, political affiliation or how much money you have or don’t have. Almost everyone in their lifetime experiences some kind of hate and it is difficult getting past the hate towards you that you experience or the hate that someone else teaches you. What I have found as someone who has had hate, what I learned is how it feels to be treated as nothing or less than nothing or something that needed to be destroyed is that I didn’t want to feel that way and I don’t want others to feel that way either. It’s not just about what people said about me when when they the girls that molested me twisted the story and told all their friends that I was gay. I know what it is like to be beaten because they thought I was a homosexual. I know what it’s like to try to defend myself and state I was not and to be called a liar. I know hate. Hate made me do things that I didn’t want to do and hate almost ended my life. I made hate almost end my life because I didn’t want to be chased, beaten, thought of, taunted, teased for being gay especially because it wasn’t true. I’m thankful that I was too scared to try to end my life in a worse way so I can be here with you today and tell you that it doesn’t matter if you are homosexual, it doesn’t matter what color your skin is, it doesn’t matter how much money you have or don’t have, it doesn’t matter what religion or lack of religion you have, it doesn’t matter what political affiliation you have. What matters in life is all lives. ALL LIVES MATTER.
