Walt Whitman Once Said…

Walt Whitman was born on May 31, 1819 and died on March 26, 1892. Walt was an American poet, essayist, and journalist. Walt was a humanist, which is a kind of philosopher and it he expressed in life and in his writing.

What is that you express in your eyes? It seems to me more than all the print I have read in my life. – Walt Whitman

People have often told me that my best feature are my beautiful green eyes and that I’m very expressive with them. They say the eyes are the windows to the soul and you can see directly to who a person is just by looking at them. Walt said or wrote about someone in flattery stating how he seen more in the persons eyes than he had read. Indeed Mr. Whitman flattery can get you many places and we all love it when we’re wooed by the person we love.

All goes onward and outward, nothing collapses. And to die is different from what any one supposed, and luckier. Walt Whitman

Walt I believe was talking about how life goes on and that it doesn’t just end or collapse and that it is just a new beginning. That’s what I believe and or would like to believe. I have experienced death of loved ones, ones I thought I could not live without and it taught me a lot about grief. I seen the light leave my Luna’s eyes and I found Dexter dead and I have had signs. They aren’t gone they’re just on another wavelength. Things don’t just stop and nothingness but a whole new adventure is about to begin. Enjoy your life here but don’t be afraid of what is to come.

Keep your face always toward the sunshine and shadows will fall behind you. – Walt Whitman

I know I always feel better with sunshine on my face or cascading on my back. But I think that Walt was talking a bit more about letting the light in and that will help push away the shadows. Everyone has darkness and goes through darkness but if you let the light in it will shine through that darkness or you will find your own light.
