Johanna Gezina van Gogh-Bonger was born on October 4, 1862 and died on September 2, 1925. Johanna was a Dutch editor and translator of the letters of the van Gogh brothers. She was the wife of Theo van Gogh, art dealer, and the sister-in-law of the painter Vincent van Gogh and became a key player in the growth of Vincent’s fame.
I picked Johanna and her quote to honor her and Vincent and Theo van Gogh. Because of Johanna and her work after losing her husband and brother in law. She organized Vincent’s works for an exhibition. She also helped in the translation of the letters between the brothers (Dear Theo) and wrote the Van Gogh history.
