Harper Lee was born on April 28, 1926 and on February 16, 2016 she passed away. In 1960, she wrote her most famous novel and one of my favorite classics, To Kill a Mockingbird and in 1961 she won the Pulitzer Prize.

She only published two books, of which the second, Go Set a Watchman was released in 2015 to follow up the Mockingbird story. I reread both books twice last year and still hold Mockingbird to be a classic favorite.
I love this quote from Mockingbird by Atticus Finch because you really don’t know someone or something until you have experienced it yourself. The way that we experience things affects the way we live and I may react to an experience way differently than you. So don’t judge a book by its cover, try to have patience with one another, be kind and try to be there for each other. The world needs more of that.
